On October 8th, Bolivar High School hosted its 2025 College and Career Fair in the BHS gym, providing students with an invaluable opportunity to explore college and career options. The event saw more than 240 BHS students participate, alongside students from eight area schools—Halfway, Fair Play, Everton, Dadeville, Morrisville, Wheatland, Weaubleau, and Pleasant Hope. These schools brought an additional 150 students, bringing the total to more than 400 students benefiting from the event.

The fair featured 50 college and industry representatives, offering students direct access to resources, information, and guidance on post-secondary options.

"Bolivar High School's annual College Fair was a true success!” said Alana Shockley, College and Career Counselor at Bolivar High School. “We truly loved seeing the wonderful student engagement and excitement, from our own BHS students, and from our surrounding schools. Enormous thank you to our BHS staff, our Pro Start Class, and our college representatives for their efforts to make this event a beneficial and worthwhile event for our students!"

Dr. Michael Methvin, Superintendent of Bolivar R-1 Schools, added, "Opportunities like the BHS College and Career Fair help open doors for students by exposing them to the many pathways available after high school. We are proud to provide an experience where our students can connect with colleges and industries to plan for a successful future."

The event was incorporated into the Class of 2026’s “College Week”, emphasizing Bolivar High School’s ongoing commitment to college and career readiness.
