Bolivar Schools is proud to announce the 2025-2026 building Teachers of the Year and building Employees of the Year. These honorees represent the heart of the Bolivar R-1 School District, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to student success, safety, and well-being.

This year’s recipients were selected by their peers for their excellence in the classroom and their vital "behind-the-scenes" contributions that keep our schools running smoothly.

"Our Teachers of the Year are more than just educators; they are innovators and mentors who inspire our students to reach heights they never thought possible," said Superintendent Dr. Michael Methvin. "Their passion for teaching is the driving force behind the academic excellence we strive for at Bolivar."

The 2025-2026 building Teachers of the Year are: ECLC: Shannon Niven (Pre-K)

BPS: Cathy Butler (Transitional Kindergarten)

BIS: Stephanie Nelson (4th Grade)

BMS: Madison Gandy (Band)

BHS: Royce Bryan (Social Studies)

"A school is only as strong as the people who support it," added Dr. Methvin. "Our Employees of the Year—from our nurses and custodians to our paraprofessionals and food service staff—ensure our students are safe, nourished, and cared for. They are the essential foundation of the Liberator spirit."

The 2025-2026 building Employees of the Year are: ECLC: Lyndsay Papenfuhs (Paraprofessional)

BPS: Stephanie Bradshaw (Cashier)

BIS: Dave Schill (Custodian)

BMS: Amber Thompson (Nurse)

BHS: Bryan Arfons (Custodian)

The district Master Teacher of the Year and District Employee of the Year will be announced at the end-of-year celebration on Monday, April 6th.
